ELECTRO
Battery-powered supply achieving 40% lower noise than the Agilent E3631A at ~$80 vs ~$1,400.
Low-noise power supply. Venue: SRC TechCon 2024.
ELECTRO is a battery-powered supply for testing sensitive analog chips. Two 18650 lithium cells in series provide isolated DC with no AC/DC switching artifacts.
Control System
An ATmega32U4 microcontroller runs an RTOS-based control system with cell voltage and temperature monitoring, passive balancing, and over-current protection. Output voltage ranges from 5 V to 8.4 V.
Performance
3.89 mV peak-to-peak ripple—40% lower than the Agilent E3631A, Keysight E36103B, Siglent SPD3303X-E, and Rigol DP832. Total cost around $80.
